The Institute seeks to encourage ethical inquiry and integrate ethics into the curriculum at every level of study. Interdisciplinary faculty working groups support research, scholarship and the development of new interdisciplinary courses, programs, and projects.

2008-2009. The Institute will put on several lectures on Liberty and Coercion in Public Health. In addition, two lecturers will visit under the Hollingsworth Lectureship-- Professor Tom L. Beauchamp (Kennedy Institute of Ethics, Georgetown University), whose visit is September 11 and 12, and Professor Willis Jenkins (Yale University Divinity School), whose lecture on environmental ethics is scheduled for November 20, 2008.
